THE SEVEN KNOWLEDGE GRAPHS
Cluster Exam §63 · pages 59–60
63. THE SEVEN KNOWLEDGE GRAPHS Ultimately I would structure your content like this: DECA │ ├── Business Administration Core │ ├── Business Law │ ├── Communications │ ├── Customer Relations │ ├── Economics │ ├── Emotional Intelligence │ ├── Entrepreneurship │ ├── Financial Analysis │ ├── HR │ ├── Information Management │ ├── Marketing │ ├── Operations │ ├── Professional Development │ └── Strategic Management │ ├── Business Management & Administration │ ├── Entrepreneurship │ ├── Finance │ ├── Hospitality & Tourism │ ├── Marketing │ └── Personal Financial Literacy Then every lower cluster adds specialized instructional areas and deeper concepts.
BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION CORE
Cluster Exam §5 · pages 6–7
5. BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION CORE This should be treated as the foundation of everything else . DECA identifies these BAC instructional areas: Instructional area What students should understand Business Law Legal obligations, contracts, liability, regulation, intellectual property, employment basics Communications Speaking, listening, writing, workplace communication, communication channels Customer Relations Customer service, complaints, customer expectations, relationship building Economics Supply/demand, competition, economic systems, productivity, inflation, business cycles Emotional Intelligence Self-awareness, interpersonal skills, teamwork, conflict resolution, ethics, adaptability Entrepreneurship Entrepreneurial characteristics and basic venture concepts Financial Analysis Money, financial information, calculations, financial decision-making Human Resources Management Staffing and employee concepts Information Management Data collection, records, technology, information security Marketing Fundamental role and purpose of marketing Operations Day-to-day business processes and productivity Professional Development Careers, workplace behavior, goals, ethics and professional skills Strategic Management Long-term organizational direction and decision-making These are DECA's official BAC instructional areas. 2026–27 Business Administration Core exam blueprint This is particularly valuable for your AI because it tells you exactly what to prioritize. Instructional area District Associatio n ICDC Business Law 1 1 4 Communications 15 15 11 Customer Relations 5 5 4 Economics 7 7 12 Emotional Intelligence 22 22 19 Entrepreneurship 0 0 1 Financial Analysis 16 16 13 Human Resources Management 1 1 1 Information Management 10 10 11 Marketing 1 1 1 Operations 11 11 13 Professional Development 11 11 9 Strategic Management 0 0 1 This immediately tells your recommendation engine something important: BAC is not primarily a marketing exam. A student preparing for PMK, PFN or PHT should spend enormous amounts of time on: Emotional Intelligence → Financial Analysis → Communications → Operations → Information Management → Professional Development → Economics rather than memorizing advertising terminology.
WHO TAKES WHICH EXAM?
Cluster Exam §4 · pages 5–5
4. WHO TAKES WHICH EXAM? This is one of the first pieces of logic the website needs. Competitor/event type Exam Principles of Business Management & Administration Business Administration Core Principles of Entrepreneurship Business Administration Core Principles of Finance Business Administration Core Principles of Hospitality & Tourism Business Administration Core Principles of Marketing Business Administration Core BMA Individual/Team events Business Management & Administration Entrepreneurship Individual/Team events Entrepreneurship Finance Individual/Team/Consulting events Finance Hospitality Individual/Team/Selling events Hospitality & Tourism Marketing Individual/Team/Selling/IMC events Marketing Personal Financial Literacy Personal Financial Literacy Many written projects/business plans No cluster exam Virtual Business Challenges Simulation rather than cluster exam This distinction matters tremendously. For example, someone competing in Principles of Marketing (PMK) might naturally assume they should study the Marketing Cluster Exam. They should not. The current PMK event uses the Business Administration Core exam . Similarly, Principles of Finance competitors take BAC, not the Finance Cluster Exam.
BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION CLUSTER BMA
Cluster Exam §14 · pages 12–13
14. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT & ADMINISTRATION CLUSTER BMA concerns making organizations operate effectively. DECA describes BMA professionals as responsible for ensuring organizational functions operate efficiently and meet short- and long-term objectives. Career pathways include administrative services, business information management, general management, HR management and operations management. BMA instructional areas The current DECA framework includes: Business Law, Communications, Compliance, Customer Relations, Economics, Emotional Intelligence, Entrepreneurship, Financial Analysis, Human Resources Management, Information Management, Knowledge Management, Marketing, Operations, Professional Development, Project Management, Quality Management, Risk Management and Strategic Management. 2026–27 BMA exam blueprint Area District Associatio n ICDC Business Law 5 5 5 Communications 7 6 6 Customer Relations 2 2 1 Economics 6 5 4 Emotional Intelligence 9 8 6 Entrepreneurship 1 0 0 Financial Analysis 7 6 5 HR Management 1 0 0 Information Management 7 6 6 Knowledge Management 6 7 8 Marketing 1 1 1 Operations 21 24 26 Professional Development 6 5 4 Project Management 6 7 8 Quality Management 3 4 5 Risk Management 4 5 5 Strategic Management 8 9 10 The pattern is obvious: BMA becomes increasingly operations/strategy-oriented as competitors advance. ICDC BMA gives roughly one-quarter of the entire test to operations alone . Your adaptive system should reflect that.

Cluster Exam §1 · pages 2–3
1. WHAT I WOULD CALL THE CORE "BUSINESS BRAIN"
Cluster Exam §65 · pages 61–61
65. WHAT I WOULD CALL THE CORE "BUSINESS BRAIN" Before the AI specializes in any cluster, its general model should understand these major systems: Consumers — why people buy. Markets — how buyers/sellers interact. Organizations — how businesses coordinate people/resources. Money — how economic value is measured and financed. Information — how businesses learn and decide. Operations — how businesses produce/deliver value. Marketing — how businesses identify and satisfy customers. People — how employees and customers behave. Law/Ethics — what businesses may and should do. Strategy — how organizations build sustainable advantage. Every DECA question can essentially be attached to one or several of those.
